Västerås Sinfonietta

Since 1883, the Västerås Sinfonietta has been established as one of the leading chamber orchestras in Sweden.

Based in the superb acoustics of Västerås Konserthus, the 33 musician strong orchestra plays for its audiences in, among other things, subscription series, lunch and coffee concerts as well as offering a rich selection of performances for children and older people.

The orchestra believes in variety, tradition and innovation, meaning it’s audience gets to meet the classic masters as well as today's new stars.

Västerås Sinfonietta has received attention for several CDs. The sinfonietta won together with the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra a Swedish Grammy in 2017 in the category "Classical Album of the Year" for the CD Mats Larsson Gothe: Symphony No. 2.
